The fulfillment center will be located in an industrial park near American Way and U.S. Highway 27 in north Groveland. Construction will start later this year and is scheduled for completion in 2021.
Kroger has no grocery stores in Florida. But the company invested in grocery chain Lucky’s Market, which is expanding in the Metro Orlando region. Ocado is supplying the “advanced robotics” technology for the fulfillment center.
Although automation will heavily feature at the site, Kroger still expects that the fulfillment center will employ about 400 workers.
