Bradley Airport sees spike in e-commerce freight out of Windsor Locks, CT

Supply-chain companies out of Bradley Airport handled 16% more freight and mail shipped through the airport than in 2017. The companies include FedEx, DHL, and Pinnacle Logistics.

Pinnacle Logistics alone employs about 200 people at the airport, and officials expect that number to increase in 2019.

The “Bradley Airport Development Zone,” which includes towns such as East Granby, Suffield, Windsor, and Windsor Locks, is benefiting from the rise in freight and mail handling. Companies such as Amazon, Walgreens, and Dollar Tree have opened distribution centers in the area thanks to tax breaks on offer to companies who acquire, construct, or renovate distribution facilities in the zone.
