Demolition of CapTrust building in downtown Tampa, FL set to begin

Developers are ready to begin demolition of downtown Tampa’s CapTrust building, a project that is expected to take more than a month.

The demolition, which will begin on July 8, will reroute downtown traffic.

The 7-floor building is being demolished to make way for the Riverwalk Place development, a 53-story luxury condo tower. Even though the tower already has $90 million worth of condos reserved, the developers have not announced a date for when construction of the new building will begin.
