By the total number of jobs, the announcement ranks as the sixth-largest jobs deal in Tennessee history.
SmileDirect lets patients make an impression of their teeth with a kit or by visiting a storefront for a 3D scan. The company then uses the data to make aligners.
The company moved its headquarters to Nashville in 2016 and now employs more than 1,600 in the Nashville area alone.
