Newark’s Valentine’s Day bid for Amazon’s HQ2

Newark, NJ sent Amazon a Valentine’s Day bid for HQ2 after the e-commerce giant’s plans for a new campus in New York City fell though.
City representatives sent Amazon a heart-shaped card that read: NJ & Newark still love u, Amazon!
This isn’t the first time Newark has pitched Amazon for its HQ2 campus. Back in November 2018 both the city of Newark and the state of New Jersey offered Amazon $7 billion in tax incentives in an effort to win its East Coast headquarters.
