Tobacco Valley Solar Farm coming to Simsbury, CT

280 acres of farmland north of downtown Simsbury, CT have been sold to solar developer Deepwater Wind. Once the project is completed, it will be one of the largest solar farms in New England.
Desri TVS Real Estate Holdings LLC of New York City purchased the land for $7.7 million.
On March 28, 2019, council members approved the development and management plan for the solar farm. Construction is expected to start later this spring and be completed by the end of 2019.
