The trend of U.S. job openings outnumbering the number of job seekers has continued for 16 straight months.
Because there are more jobs available than people to fill them, more employees than ever are confident that they can find more favorable jobs. As a result, workers are increasingly quitting.
In April 2019, the number of quitting workers hit a record high of 3.5 million.
Restaurant and hotel workers are quitting their jobs at the highest rates.
